Best Burgers in Town!

Though it looked like it might rain, the weather held out and provided a slightly chilly but perfect evening for Pahitua's free burger event. With big puffy clouds in the sky painted gold by the sun beginning to set, the air was filled with the smell of patties cooking on the barby as people started to arrive early to make sure they didn't miss out.

The Pahiatua Community Garden provided the venue - the perfect backdrop to an evening about sharing food - and salads bursting with home-grown flavour. New World Pahiatua donated the burger buns and the meat was supplied by Waiwaste - culled venison that would have otherwise been dumped. There were also drinks and ice cream for everyone. 

A good turn out, plenty of laughter and conversation, and happy tummys made for a lovely community evening. We look forward to another bountiful garden crop and bumper burger night next year.
